2019 Stafford High School Lacrosse Tryout Guidelines
- Open to all male Stafford High School students in good academic standing.
- Participants must have a VHSL Physical valid for the 2018-19 School Year. Completed physical must be handed in to the Athletic Office or be in Coach’s possession before tryout participation can proceed. No exceptions.
- Equipment (required): helmet, stick, gloves, mouth guard, protective cup, arm and shoulder pads, cleats and tennis shoes. Sweat pants and hoodies are strongly encouraged for late winter and early spring practices. Prepare for outdoor and/or indoor practices.
- Assessment Criteria:
Physical-Footwork, coordination, speed, agility, stamina, power
Technical-Passing, catching, cradling, dodging, defense, accuracy
Tactical-Motion, attacking, on/off ball, communication, spacing
Psychological-Coachable, effort, teamwork, focus, perseverance
- Timing:
Monday, February 18 – 2:00-6:00p
Tuesday, February 19 – 2:30p-4:30p
Wednesday, February 20 – 2:30p-4:30p
Thursday, February 21 – 2:30p-4:30p (If necessary)
*Changes may be necessary due to weather or field conditions
- Estimated Team Roster Size:
Varsity: 20-24 players Junior Varsity: 24-28 players
- Practice Policy:
Monday through Saturday depending on field and weather conditions
